Zhang Jianbo
|
Zhang Jianbo, male, born
in February 1959, a native of Hanshou County,
Hunan Province, has achieved a doctor’s degree
in education. He has won great honors, like
“Deputy to Hunan Provincial People’s Congress”,
“Excellent National Education Worker”, “one of
the ten outstanding private enterprisers of
Hunan”, “vice-president of Hunan Association of
Private Enterprises. Now he is chairman of Hunan
Falcon Industry Co. Ltd. and is chairman of
Hunan International Economics University.
He was admitted to Hunan Public Security Cadre
School in 1979 and worked as a teacher in Hunan
People’s Police School after graduation in 1981.
In 1984 he joined the Communist Party of China
and was enrolled in the Law Department of Wuhan
University in 1988. In 1990 he attained a
bachelor’s degree and then worked in Hunan
Public Security Academy as League Committee
secretary and dean of teaching-research section
of law.
In 1992, Zhang Jianbo resigned and opened a
vehicle driving training center. The year 1993
witnessed the founding of Hunan Falcon Industry
Co. Ltd. by his younger brother Zhang Jiangbo
and him. After a few years’ fast development,
the corporation has become a large group
corporation covering many fields, including
education, real estate, construction, estate
management and entertainment. It ranks among the
top 500 private enterprises in Hunan.
In 1997, with the investment of the corporation,
Hunan College of Arts and Science was
established in Chenzhou, Hunan. Zhang Jianbo was
appointed as the chairman and legal
representative. In 1998, the college was moved
to Changsha City and planned to be renamed Hunan
International Economics University. In 2000, the
college was approved as a regular private
college by People’s Government and renamed Hunan
Vocational College of International Economics.
In 2005, it was upgraded to be a four-year
university by the State Commission of Education
and renamed Hunan International Economics
University.
In 2001, Zhang Jianbo won the title of
“Excellent Teacher of Hunan Province” and scored
a “Second-class Merit”. Since the year 2002, he
has been awarded several honorary titles of “one
of the ten outstanding private enterprisers in
Hunan”, “advanced worker in running schools by
non-governmental sectors of Hunan Province” in
2002, then “advanced worker in private education
of Hunan Province” in 2003, “outstanding
educational worker”, “the first-class merit”
conferred by Hunan Personnel Department and
Hunan Education Department in 2004, and
“provincial advanced worker” by People’s
Government of Hunan Province in 2005.
In recent years, Zhang Jianbo devotes himself on
the study of higher education. He has published
two works and about 10 papers on academic
journals like “China Higher Education”. His
research project “Research on the leapfrogging
Development of Private Colleges” has won a
first-class prize of provincial teaching
achievements and “Strategic Research on Private
College Sustainable Development” has been listed
among the projects of the State of Education. |
